String art · sacred geometry · mandalas
Learn string art from scratch and create your own thread mandalas
A board, nails and thread. You do not need to know how to draw: the template marks where every nail goes and the sequence tells you where the thread goes next. I did not start out knowing art either.
Online courses · lifetime access · from any country

The usual problem
“I can't draw.”
It is the first thing almost everyone tells me. And it is exactly why the method is built the way it is.
Nobody starts by creating. You start by replicating guided designs: the template tells you where to hammer, the sequence tells you where to pass the thread. Your hands learn before your head does. After a few pieces, one day you look at the pattern and understand why it works. That is when you start creating your own.
There is no talent involved. There is a correct order to learn it in.
What you will learn
Five online courses, more than twelve designs
Beginner
Your first piece, from the first nail: preparing the board, hammering evenly and keeping the thread taut.
Advanced
Multi-layered figures. This is where you start to understand why a design works instead of just copying it.
7 Chakras
Seven pieces with their own colour logic and symbolism. The favourite of people who come for the calming side.
Magic Hexagons
The family of designs that sells best at craft fairs: quick to make and very striking.
Sacred Geometry
Flower of life, seed of life, Metatron. The foundation that lets you create your own designs instead of repeating mine.

I did not start out knowing art either.
In 2016 I came across geometric string art and something clicked. I combined it with two things that already fascinated me — sacred geometry and mandalas — and that mix became what I now call the hilomandala method.
I started teaching in person, with tables full of boards, nails and thread. That is where I understood what mattered: almost nobody needed artistic talent. They needed someone to break the process down and teach it in the right order.

Frequently asked questions
What is string art?
String art is art made with thread pulled taut between nails on a wooden board. Crossing in straight lines many times over, the thread draws curves nobody traced: it is a geometric effect, not steady hands. At Fractaleria we cross it with mandalas and sacred geometry.
Do I need to know how to draw?
No. This is the question I get most, and the answer is always the same: you do not start by inventing anything. The template marks where every nail goes and the sequence tells you where the thread goes next. First you replicate guided designs; once you understand the logic, you create your own.
What materials do I need?
A wooden board, nails, thread and a hammer. Nothing else, and all of it from any hardware store. Inside the course I tell you the exact sizes and which thread works best.
How long does it take to learn?
Your first piece takes an afternoon. The rest goes at your pace: the classes are recorded and access is for life, so there are no deadlines.
Are the courses online?
Yes, 100% online and pre-recorded. Watch from your computer, tablet or phone, whenever you can, from any country. You also get a private community where you share your work and I answer.
Can I sell what I make?
Yes. The pieces you create are yours and you can sell them. If you also want to teach the technique, there is an instructor certification.
